The Young Communist League of South Africa (YCLSA) commends the South African government for the bold step it took to refer the terrorist Apartheid-settler Israeli state to the ICJ (International Court of Justice) to stop the genocidal activities against the people of Palestine.
As the YCLSA we welcome the provisional judgment, it marks a decisive victory for the international rule of law and a significant milestone in the search for justice for the Palestinian people. The interim order was handed down on 26 Friday, In Hague, Netherlands. has determined that Israel’s actions in Gaza are plausibly genocidal and has indicated provisional measures on that basis.
The provisional measures are directly binding on Israel, and the provisional judgment and the genocide convention order Israel to stop all acts that are plausibly genocidal, such as those raised by South Africa in its Application and request for the indication of provisional measures. There is no credible basis for Israel to continue to claim that its nefarious military actions are in full compliance with international law, including the Genocide Convention, having regard to the Court’s ruling. It is outright nonsense to claim self-defence when they use heavy military artillery on the defenceless Palestinian people.
We reiterate our strong condemnation of the Apartheid–Settler State genocide against the people of Palestine. We observe how the continued bombardments targeting hospitals, Universities, and homes leave many Palestinians homeless and displaced deliberately. Since 7 October 2023, the Israeli State has killed over 26,000 Palestinians of which 75% of the casualties are children, women, and the elderly. We call on Palestinians to use all in their ability to retaliate against the deliberate onslaught, it is our considered view that oppression breeds resistance and a direct fight back against the bombardments must be met with the same level of confrontation. As we continue to lobby the international community about the plight of Palestinians we call on them the ever-resistant fighters to fight on.
We further note the intention of the Israelis to intentionally disregard the provisional court order handed down against them and to continue with the war against the people in Gaza, if Israeli continues with the bombardments we call on the Palestinian militants to escalate the fight and
take the fight directly to the back door of Israelis’, that chief murderer by the name of Benjamin Netanyahu together with his handler Joe Biden the chief puppet master to desist from misleading genocide freaks from further wreaking havoc in Palestine.
We are aware of some of those who we thought were pro the plight of the suffering people of Palestine, the judge from Uganda Judge Julia Sebutinde what a shame on her she we take a deem view on her, she has proven to be a sellout by choosing to vote against the order handed down by the ICJ, she is evidence enough that there are still traitors whom we had expected to be progressive.
As the YCLSA we stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine, we continue to call for an immediate ceasefire and an immediate return of the Palestinians to their entire land. We will continue to monitor the situation should it escalate we shall also escalate our campaigns in South Africa. Israel is a Terrorist Settler-Apartheid State and it should be called out for such.
